Posture, good or bad,
can have a direct impact on your overall health.
When the state of muscular balance is compromised, the whole body begins to compensate, thereby creating misalignments, causing joints to bear weight abnormally. Muscles are then prohibited from performing their proper roles in support and movement. Our body the begins to adapt as if this new posture is normal despite muscle strain, cartilage deterioration and pain.
Correcting overall posture will not only reduce the pain and symptoms in one area of the body, but help prevent future injury or pain as well.

A posture assessment is performed by reviewing your load joint alignment, gait analysis, and functional tests. The assessment findings are used to generate a personalized series of gentle exercises and stretches (called menu) to correct posture. Because your success depends on performing the menu daily, the length of menu is customized based on your time commitment. You will be guided on how to perform the menu during the visit. The menu’s instructions and videos are also provided electronically to guide you at home and are yours to keep forever.
An initial visit takes 1.5 hours with an additional client wellness history. A follow-up visit takes an hour.
Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that leave your shoulders, knees and ankles exposed, such as sleeveless top or a sports bra, and shorts or pants that can be rolled up above your knees. Clothing with solid color other than black is preferred.

FAQ
Q: Who can benefit from postural alignment therapy?
A: Postural alignment therapy is beneficial for everyone, regardless of age or athletic background. It can help optimize health and well-being, improve performance, and reduce pain.
Q: What distinguishes postural alignment therapy from other forms of therapy?
A: Postural alignment therapy, utilizing The Egoscue Method, seeks to address the root cause of pain rather than just symptoms. With a focus on joint alignment, a postural alignment specialist (PAS) ensures that exercises are performed correctly, leading to faster results. This therapy offers a range of passive exercises that utilize gravity to realign load joints and reduce muscle tension, providing a therapeutic experience for some. Moreover, it enhances clients' awareness of their body's movement, helping them to identify movements to avoid or focus on, thus reducing the risk of injuries.
Q: Can postural therapy be done through remote sessions?
A: Absolutely! However, the first four sessions are recommended to be conducted in person to build a strong foundation. Remote sessions are available at a discounted rate depending on their content.
Q: How frequently should I schedule therapy sessions with a PAS?
A: Following the evaluation during the initial visit, you and a PAS will work together to create a schedule that supports your wellness journey while aligning with your budget. Consistent daily completion of prescribed exercises at home is crucial for successful outcomes.
Q: What if I can't do certain exercises?
A: Don’t worry! Each exercise has a range of positions to choose from, and a PAS can help find the most comfortable position for your body. If a comfortable position cannot be found, it may indicate that your body is not yet ready for that specific exercise, and an alternative exercise will be recommended.

The
Egoscue Method
The Egoscue Method was created by Pete Egoscue through his efforts to find solutions for his chronic pain. More than four decades ago, Pete Egoscue returned from Vietnam with a Purple Heart and ongoing nerve pain due to wounds suffered in battle. Like many of us, Pete was conditioned to rely on medical experts, but they focused on his symptoms and were unable to help him. So Pete began his search for a way to live pain-free, finding the true cause of his symptoms - his posture and balance.
The Egoscue Method is considered one of the most respected non-medical pain relief system.

ABout
When I had a herniated disc and injured ligaments, my doctor told me I had less than a 20% chance of recovery without surgery. Dreadful of any kind of surgery, I opted for Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment followed by nine months of physical therapy. Then my recovery hit a plateau, and that was when my PRP physician recommended The Egoscue Method: Postural Alignment Therapy.
My experience with The Egoscue Method as a client was so positive, that I decided to become a certified Egoscue Postural Alignment Specialist (PAS). Now I’m bringing this therapy to Lake County. Contact me to find out how it can help you.
